Ukraine is know for neo Nazi violence, ultranationalism, and lack of basic freedoms and rights.

In Ukraine there long have been neo-Nazi pogroms against people with different ethnic facial features, rampant attacks on feminists and LGBT groups, book bans, and state-sponsored glorification of World War II Nazi collaborators.

Attacks can occur without warning, even against persons, companies and foreign government officials invited to Ukraine for business, educational or tourism reasons.  The police and courts of Ukraine have shown a clear pattern of allowing all such attacks, and justice is not usually available through the police of courts.

A complication of news reports from a variety of reputable sources tells the story.

* A special acknowledgement to Michael Shannon, a former hate crimes special prosecutor working with Ukraine's only western anti-Corruption watchdog (Twitter: @UkraineLiberty) for gathering and  providing this complication to Global News Stream.  And a special thank you also to @Washingtonpost and writers at @Bellingcat who pointed us to where other source materials are for the forthcoming second part of this report.
